Cascading Rainbow Fountain

The hardscape is really the inspiration for this Wabi Kusa. I picked it up in early 2024 knowing that I wanted to use it in some sort of waterfall/fountain setup, taking advantage of the wide smooth curve. I brought it to the Wabi Kusa workshop thinking that the flatter bottom portion would be the perfect base for the substrate ball. I used a deep dish and stones to prop the wood at the right angle and drilled a hole at the top for the fountain outlet to give a wide controlled spread for the water flow. For the plants, my aim was to have a few contrasting sections of color: taller greens in the back, a pop of purple blending into red, and then more green cascading down into the water from the edges of the substrate ball. The deeper dish also allowed for some red root floaters as accents. Finally, if it's not clear from the picture, the silver pothos is not part of the Wabi Kusa setup, but is cascading down from a pot to the right and goes behind the dish.
